As far as my dietitian is concerned, I am losing weight a little too fast. I've been losing weight at a rate of about 1.5 to 2kg a week. She felt that the safe rate is about 1kg a week. While I have not been starving myself, she was worried that with my weight loss, I might start losing muscle mass instead. So, she suggested that I try to increase my intake with some breakfast, like with some wholemeal bread or low-fat yoghurt.
For one thing, I am of course pretty happy that I've been losing weight at a fairly speedy rate. But I wouldn't want to lose weight at the expense of my health. But there is a worry that if I were to put in more food than I am currently taking, my weight might even out or worse still.. go up!!
I've been playing around with her recommendations the last few days. I'm due for a weigh-in with my sports therapist on Wednesday. Don't really know what to expect. My last weigh-in was about 109 kg. If I follow my usual target, I should be about 106kg by Wednesday. But so far, I think my weight loss is slowing down. Last few days, it's been hovering around 108/107kg.
I'm so close to my target... but really think I should try to do the right thing. Really in a bit of a dilemma. WIll probably try to continue with the extra food and see how things go.
